Valet only; at the time, it was $8 just so you know. It's unique, there's no other place like Yamashiro and overall, I say go at least once. It's pricey for what you get -- I gave the food quality a 3.0. While my particular dish was disappointing, two of our four diners ordered the filet. It was very good. The best part in terms of food: the appetizers. The cocktails - we chose tropical - very good. The view, of course, outstanding. Since we were in a Japansese retaurant I wanted to eat in what is called the 'Garden Room' - very asian, with a water pond in the middle. But overly quiet -- had they had some gentle Japanese music playing, it would have changed my guests minds...Instead, they opted for an area in front, overlooking L.A. The problem with that was, I don't like paying nearly $300 to sit next to chipped paint on wall trim. Take a date or a friend and go up (and I do mean up) for appetizers and cocktails; that will provide the Yamashiro experience and satisfy your curious mind. Go watch the sunset, and take a little stroll around the small garden down a few steps in front of the restaurant. I say go once for the experience. It is an L.A. icon.

I will never go back there again. The service doesn't match the price. I had a good experience there 15 years ago. Came back to Los Angeles last year and thought about this restaurant. I suggested celebrating my friend's birthday there. Intending to ask questions that are not on their website, I picked up the phone and called 3234665125 around 7:00pm on 2/6/2014 (Thursday). The hostess answered was rude and arrogant providing words suggesting it is a big bother to ask her questions, she said, "everything is online. You can find it there." I spoke to the manager, his indicated that he did not care. I can't imagine what kind of service they provide at the restaurant.

The view was amazing, the staff was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to. A little pricey, but worth the money.

I went her for my anniversary and it was one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant. First the view is amazing!! I didn't think LA could look so beautiful. When I entered the staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was to die for. I had the Lamb and it fell off the bone. The manager knew the perfect wine for our meal. Overall we will be going to this restaurant on a regular basis. If you have never been I very much suggest you go. The bar stays open late too. I didnt know that.
