Faraway & Exotic and right here!
This is a very quirky restaurant in a seemingly seedy location, but the food is fantastic and while yes it is a little pricey, it's amazingly good and totally worth it because everything here is completely authentic to the point where if you're here on a celebration night when people from this culture have filled the place, you'll think you were transported to another world, far far away. Live music, informal dancing, a real sense of a night out at a time like that. I understand why people who want to dine cheap would find this place more expensive ( I find Musso and Franks, Solleys, and The Smokehouse expensive too) but this is amazing, and truly unique, just like they promise you as you walk in. Another time we were here and it was a slow night and the energy was totally different, but the people who run this place are very welcoming and will help you order and believe me, the foods are fantastic. The online menu here is old, the prices are a little higher now and there are more dishes. I had roasted duckling - now on the menu - and it was INCREDIBLE. If you live in LA and want a true culinary adventure, try this place, it will blow your mind!

Expensive?
If people think this place is expensive, clearly they don't dine our much. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the place is fun, and the food is very yummy. Last time we went, we brought our own vodka, and they didn't even charge us a corkage.

I expected better...
The service was not very good -- I don't think our waiter ever smiled. The food was cold. The atmosphere was very Uzbekistan-like and it felt really good. I don't think I liked the experience. Maybe it was because my expectations were too high, since I heard a lot of good things about the place.

You get what you pay for.
Uzbekistan restaurant serves excellent, authentic Uzbek and Russian dishes. It's a little pricey, but the service is fantastic, and so is the food. I highly recommend the place, but only if you're ready to spend a little.
