Two lines for the price of one...
I find pretentiousness a bit irritating, and that's pretty much all you get from Urth. I live right down the street, and since the coffee is undeniable good I'm blessed with the responsibility of skateboarding down to get my lady a fresh cup every morning. However, it's since become my least favorite chore to do in the day, simply because of the snobby people and the ridiculous lines. If you would like to sit you have to wait in yet ANOTHER line. I'm not to keen on waiting around 30 to 45 minutes on a latte and a chicken quesadilla, but maybe it's just me. All in all the food is "fancy" (heavy air quotes) and not even close to being worth the time or the cost for the final product.

the best casual spot in LA
I absolutely love Urth caffe. From the quality of food - absolutely fresh, tasty and healthy. To the uplifting atmosphere. This is where you want to go to meet a friend to catch up, to sit back and relax over a nice hot chocolate, or go for that late night dessert. You can even take a date here for a casual lunch. Urth caffe is what I miss most now that I've moved from california.
