High quality meat, simply prepared. Medium rare really means just that.

I've been to Taylor's several times and the food is pretty good. Taylor's is one of those institutions that seems to have been in LA forever. The decor is that of an old fashioned supper club, the lighting is very subdued, and the place does show it's age. It can sometimes feel a bit stiff and stuffy, though. Nevertheless, it's seems to be a favorite of many Angelenos.

Several years ago I happened upon Taylor's original steakhouse in Koreatown (a branch operation is in La Canada-Flintridge), and have returned many times. Thew atmosphere is that os an old-fashioned, clubby gathering place where the drinks are good, the meat outstanding, the service caring and the prices moderate. The menu is copious and the daily specials a real bargain. Meat is done exactly to specification. The dining room is small and the tables somewhat crowded, but there is an upstairs space for overflow and private parties. Lighting is low and intimate and colorful paintings adorn the walls. There are TVs in the bar area, viewable from the dining space, but not intrusive. I have only good things to say about this great old established restaurant, It was a great place then, and that tradition contiinues today.
