If you want authentic Japanese food, you've found it. My husband and I enjoyed the Omakase course that was prepared for us by Chef Kino. Be sure to tell him what you don't like beforehand. The lady who served us was incredibly sweet as well. The service can be a slow at times, but the experience here is worth it. Feels like you're dining at a tiny restaurant in Japan. Very warm and quite rare!

I have been going to Ta-Ke Sushi close to 20 years. Went back on Dec. 01, 2012 and found out the place has new owners. Unlcean, poor service / (forgot our orders, and Sake), and the food simply subpar

We've had sushi and Japanese food in many different cities and countries (unfortunately not in Japan), but this is, by far, the best place we've ever been to. And we've been to some good places before. The food here is so good that we fear we will have a problem to ever again eat in an other Japanese restaurant. This means we will not be able to eat Japanese food very often as we live an about 10 hour long flight trip away from LA. Seriously, we are considering moving to LA to be close to this restaurant. That's how good this restaurant is. The sushi is exceptional and so is all the other food we tried here. We also loved the atmosphere which was friendly and neighborly. The owners immediately made us feel welcome and already the second time we went here we were treated as if we were everyday-customers. Just one warning, if you're into one of those trendy places with Philip Starck-look-alike interior, rather than the actual food, this is not for you. This place is for people with genuine love for the Japanese cuisine and with an appreciation for the handicraft performed by the chefs as well as for the warm atmosphere.

We have some very good sushi restaurants in London (Shogun, Ikeda), but they pale when compared to Take Sushi. The fish is always of the highest standard and the incredibly good value. Around 20 pieces of sashimi with rice and miso will set you back 18.95 dollars - amazing. The restaurant has recently changed hands with old owner/chef Nobu moving to the downtown fish market. New owner chef Kino maintains the standard sesamlessly. I would like to keep this restaurant a secret but it is so good I can't. I make it a point to visit Take as often as I can. Whether you know what you want or want to be surprised by the chef(s) you will be blown away. Enjoy.
