I've been eating there over 5 years and just love the place. I know the owners very well we would chat about each others kids how they've grown all the time. They are a very nice couple. I have tried Indian food all over LA as well as Chicago, Boston and Oregon and there is no comparison! The buffet is fabulous and I always walk out looking like I'm pregnant and I'm a guy. Trust me Shalimar's food is the BEST!! Loyal Customer

Hey guys, I haven't seen such an Indian restaurant in US. Are you thinking I am going to appreciate it? No never... Once I went for dinner with my husband to this restaurant. We were not so hungry and so ordered only one appetizer and a dinner special. The waiter strictly told us that dinner should not be shared. The way he expressed it was annoying. What is their problem if we share or not? Anyway it is not unlimited. The appetizer being paneer pakoda was horrible. No sauce, nothing--just big pieces of paneer. I couldn't have more then 1 piece. The dinner special was more worse than this. The presentation was bad. They mix everything in the same plate. My husband managed to have half of it for the sake of eating. We came out dissatisfied. Last to mention they provided a bowl of watermelons for each guest, which was really good. If you want to try this you may go to this restaurant.

What can I say other than that the food is great. They have a nice buffet and friendly people. They always accommodate our last minute take out orders as well.
