Not sure what all the fuss is about
I've been to both the roscoes in Hollywood and in long beach and to be perfectly honest, I wasn't much impressed with either. Maybe I'm too much of a food snob but I have had real deal soul food in the south, and the roscoes fried chicken, Mac and cheese, and collards just can't even compare flavor wise. Everything seems overcooked and/or under seasoned. The fried chicken never seems to have that thick, salty, crispy coating that i yearn for that makes the calorie splurge worth it. I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think roscoes deserves it's rep as the best fried chicken in LA. It is somewhat of a landmark though, and pretty amazing people watching on a weekend.

Call in and pick up your food...
Unless you want to wait around forever, call your order in and take it home with you. The food is all incredible though! There isn't a single thing on the menu that sucks. I mean, it's Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, the name speaks for itself...

Delicious Fried Chicken. Period.
I have been a customer of Roscoes for many years. The food is delicious. After having tried many fried chicken dinners at various coffee shops and restaurants, I have come to the conclusion that Roscoes is now the only game in town. The place gets packed, and the staff gets swamped, but they deliver the goods time and time again. Try to get a seat on a Friday or Saturday night, good luck. As far as bad service, its never happened to me there. You have to understand, when the place is packed shoulder to shoulder, its amazing that they can get the orders out and still keep is so delicious! Excellent place to get Fried Chicken, the way its supposed to be made, not dry and overcooked or greasy and full of salt like all the other so called chicken places in town. Delicious waffles, and the best biscuits and gravy in town. If you haven't had it, you have to try it!
