i still dream about the crust

just because you have a wood fire oven doesn't mean you know how to make a great pizza. i don't know what they do to make their pizza dough, but it's quite magical. who knows dough better than nancy silverton though, right? the toppings may not be what most would put first on a pizza they definitely know what works. it's a small, cozy place with great service. it was pretty cool that the first time i went mario batali was there with his family, orange crocs and all, enjoying the amazing food.

Still as good as the fist time

This is now my 6th time to Pizzera Mozza and it is still the same; great pizza and entres. I love this place and can't wait to go back in April

    Still Wonderful

This is my 5th time in the past year eating at Pizzeria Mozza and each time it is as good as the first. The pizza is wonderful..the crust thin and crispy. The Eggplant Carbonata is my husband's favorite along with the fried zucchini flowers. If I could change one thing about this restaurant, would be the noise and the spacing between tables. However, it is still worth it!!

    mediocre at best

the food was just ok. definitely do not understand the hype. pizza was very thick crust and not all that good at all. the waiter was not helpful. the parking was $8 for lunch.

    Phony food for Phony folks

Been waiting for a perfect day to try this much talked about joint. Only thing perfect was the weather. OK, the wine and the broccoflower were very good. Sat at the bar after a short wait and even tho my wife and I are always assumed to be "someone" in the biz, the hostess did'nt bother to tell us that the 15 min. wait was for the bar.....No big deal, but tell the people please. So, we ordered the daily special which is grilled fennel sausage on rapini with roasted taters....The sausage was the single most salty dish I have had since an IRS agent took me to a Spanish joint for Bacalao (salt cod). It was not good and had I not cared to wait another 30 minutes for a replacement dish I would have sent it back. Absolutely ridiculous and clear that nobody bothered to taste it. The pizza margherita was way below average with only tiny shavings of Basil. Good wine and broccoflower though..... Mozza is another phony entertainment industry eaterie, stocked with phony entertainment people, talking about, what else, but the next heap of garbage that we get to see.... Oh, and last, be sure to be ready for the $7.50 valet parking charge......look for a spot on the streets nearby, there are plenty for lunch....

    Mario at his best!

As a native New Yorker who has eaten at all of Mario's restuarants, this is a jewel for Los Angeles. Despite the fact that the space is small and noisey, it has wonderful pizza. Mine is the sausage. The fried zucchini flowers were wonderful both times I had them. It is well worth the trip. I have eaten here twice and have never had to wait for a table. The service is good for such a small place, but on my next visit, I would definitely sit at the Bar to eat. There you can watch Nancy Silverton at her best preparing the desserts.
