Food is great if you have the time

The food is really good and authentic. There are lots of dishes to enjoy. The only problem is that the waitstaff is so slow. Forget about lunch unless you have 90 minutes or more. Also, yes the tables are too close together and it's very noisy. I still go back whenever I have time, though. The food is really, really good.

    big dissapointment...

Every year on a certain day in November, I take my wife to a Greek restaurant here in the greater LA. Last week we've been to Petros in Manhattan - to check out the new Greek restaurant in town. I had great expectations for this place considering the reviews I found on the Internet (especially this one here http://www.calendarlive.com/dining/cl-fo-review22mar22,0,2306242.story) Once there, things weren't so great... The atmosphere is anything but Greek - pop music, so bad engineered that you hear people talking over just a humm in the background; tables are small and next to each other - you hear all the conversations around you... nothing inside to remind you of Greece - nothing but the food.. and that is not coming in great variety: the menu is not offering too many choices... speaking of the menu: ours had food in it left maybe by the previous patrons... and the most annoying fact: since we couldn't persuade our server to make adjustments to anything on the menu, my wife had eventually a ny steak which she asked to be "well done" - she's always doing that with steaks, so there's no doubt there. When the food came, the steak was "medium rare", something that I really didn't expected from a place like this... In conclusion: if you want to eat and experience "Greek style", try some other place... One positive note: despite what others experienced, we were seated fast and our reservation time honored

    Great Greek

I went with my Greek friend. We both found a lot to enjoy. The fried cheese is great. The service was good, and we had a good time. I have been back several times. A good change in a less diverse restaurant scene.
