    By Farthe best restaurant in Los Feliz

    This place just opened within walking distance to my home, and I've been there twice for dinner in the week that it's been open. Simply put, this is now the best restaurant in the Los Feliz neighborhood. Everything about it, from the incredible food and drinks, to the service, to the open, expansive vibe is top notch. Both dinners I went with a group of at least 4 people, so many different dishes were ordered, and I think I'm 3 entrees away from knowing practically the whole dinner menu! Here were the highlights for me: The Texan brisket sandwich is everything you want out of BBQ. Not too saucey, and enough meat to satisfy without overwhelming or soggying up the bread. Plus the french fries are the perfect combination of crispy on the outside, and a rich, almost mashed potato quality on the inside. It's also served with house made ginger ketchup. The Lobster Mac and Cheese is a wonderful spin on this kind of dish. Instead of your standard bechamel, they use a lobster bisque for creamy-ness. This does the neat trick of making their version lighter than most belly bomb Macs, and serves to really highlight the lobster and make that the star of the dish. The Kale Caesar salad is to die for. Who knew that Goat Gouda would work so well with kale? The avocado is a perfect portion as well. Many of the appetizers and sides are fantastic, but the favorites at our table were the Steak Tartare Tacos (mmmmm), the Shrimp Cakes, the Cheddar Grits (probably the best grits I've ever had), and the Asparagus with hazelnuts and sage brown butter. Finally we get to the dessert. The two absolute winners were the wonderful Banana Cream Pie (for fans of the pie and also of creme brulee, my personal favorite dessert) and the OMG-I-don't-know-if-I-can-handle-it creation simply known as Some More. The chocolate bread pudding is insanely decadent, the graham tuile is a perfect foil, and don't get me started on the marshmallow ice cream. Both of these desserts are perfect end to a perfect meal. The servers are friendly, attentive and helpful, and they clearly were educated on the menu items as they are able to answer any questions one might have. The drink menu is full of wonderfully created treats that I haven't fully explored yet (though The Hallucinogenic Whimsies Of Banana Man was an epic experience). If you haven't been convinced to check this place out yet I'm not sure what else I need to do!
