Best steakhouse in LA
Mastro's steakhouse is by far the best steakhouse in LA. It offers a classy yet trendy atmosphere, phenomenal cuisine, impeccable service.

Great Restaurant
Mastros enjoys a well deserved reputation as being one of California's best steak houses. I live close by the one in Thousand Oaks and I have bee there several times and crave it daily. The last time I was there I had (on advice of the staff) the 'bone in' filet mignon. I have had filets many times in may restaurants, but I have never tasted something this good. All of their sides are great as are other dishes. This is not a cheap restaurant. it is a Prime steak house which means only the best cuts of meat are used and it does make a difference. It goes under the axiom, "You get what you pay for" and if you want quality...Mastors will not disappoint.

My Favorite Steakhouse
I never knew what a steak was supposed to taste like until Mastro's. My filet was the perfect medium rare, cooked outside with a nice warm center. The lobster mashed potatoes...mmmmm mmmm mmmm. Mashed potatoes are herb seasoned, chunks of lobster, all drenched in butter. It’s so over the top, I love it! The service was outstanding! They actually serve you your food. They put your sides on your plate for you. My water/wine glass was never empty. The tables are a little too close for comfort and it’s a little too dark for me, but those are the only things I can complain about. The sautéed mushrooms are a must! There isn’t a better place in L.A. to get a steak.

What a disappointment
Having lived in LA for six years, it was about time that I tried the infamous Mastro's steakhouse. Well unfortunately it was not what I expectedI would have been better letting my "fantasy" continue. My steak was overcooked and chewy, and we ordered the second best cut on the menu! The famous Lobster Mashed Potatoes were just mashed potatoes with chunks of lobster meat. No infusion..no melding of flavors. The potatoes tasted like potatoes, the lobster like lobster, and they didn't work well together. The only redeeming thing about Mastro's was the Gorgonzola Mac-n-Cheesenow there's a recipe that I want to try at home! Overall, I found this fancy-schmancy restaurant to be wholly unimpressive. I'd much rather spend my $200 elsewhere and at least get a decent steak.
