Dependable, tasty, great value Thai food
I have been going here for years and more often than that ordering delivery from here. Having spent some time in Thailand, I return here for their authentic flavors and varied menu also you cannot get better value than this. Always extremely reliable and friendly. Highly recommended for dining in and take out ad delivery. Enjoy!

quite dependably good
this little neighborhood place has quite dependably good thai food. the dishes are all prepared well, and it all tastes exactly as it should. curries are very nice, and the noodle dishes hearty and comforting. they are also very good at keeping things mild, if requested, without being short on flavor. generally not too long of a wait for delivery, and very nice delivery folks. i've counted on them for years for my thai fix.

I LOVE Mae Ploy
Mae Ploy is a great, authentic neighborhood Thai restaurant. If you're expecting Trader Joe's flavor and textures, go to TJ's, but if you want real, delicious Thai food, there isn't any better in Silverlake than Mae Ploy.

Best thai on east side
Mae ploy has very good traditional Thai food. I don't know if the other people who gave this place a bad review have ever been to Thailand, but to me it is very authentic. The Papaya salad is amazing, as are the soups. They don't make things overly spicy unless you ask for it. I also love the noodles. Great delivery, food always arrives hot.

Mae Ploy is Good!
I can't understand the bad reviews on this site. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant and the food is well prepared. I've never had a bad experience. Yes, there are some intense sauces and some of the dishes are fairly pungent. Duh.

Stick with the Fried Rice
I wish I came to this site before trying this place out. The noodle dishes are pretty bad, try Lela Thai on Silver Lake if you want decent thai food or if you can go to Thai Town on Hollywood Blvd and order out from Thai Patio. Chan Dara is very good as well. Happy searching!

Reliable neighborhood Thai
Mae Ploy offers basic inexpensive Thai food. Great for a quick bite before seeing a show at Silverlake Lounge, Spaceland or The Echo. They've been around for a long time because they know what they're doing! I love the soups that begin with "Tom", and anything meaty they make with mint leaves and chili. I'm not a fan of curry, but others I have dined with there have seemed to enjoy the green curry especially. As for noodle dishes, Pad See Iew and Lad Na are really good, I haven't experienced the flavorless grease problem myself. The egg rolls, however, are a bit of a disappointment. They have dishes for your vegetarian friends, too. I always order eggplant with tofu, although it's not on the menu. And it's always fun to order "Spinach of Flame", how do they prepare that? "Stir fried the spinach", of course!
