Went to Lucille's today for lunch (against my better judgement) since the mrs. wanted some Q and I wasn't cooking today (I am a competitive BBQ'r and I kknow good Q!). We went once before and I didn't care for it then, but I figured "hey, everyone has a bad day." Wrong!! I ordered a sampler with chicken, st. louis ribs and brisket (the first time I had tri-tip and it was extremely dry...and I ordered it medium rare!). The mrs. had chicken, pulled pork and brisket. The only thing I could eat was the chicken! The brisket was so dry and tuff, while at the restaurant my wife picks up a slice of brisket, holds it upright and say's "what the hell am I supposed to do with this?" My reply.."use it as a bookend!" I have NEVER seen a slice of brisket have the ability to STAND on it's own!! The pulled pork was somehow CRUNCHY & BRITTLE....WOW! Here are the pics to prove it!

Really good food and a lot of it (lunch the next day). Service always good (avoid rush hour, it's a popular place). Only complaint... music so loud you can't really talk with friends... not a cosy date place.

I have been going to Lucilles for a few years now, and it is defintely one of my favorite restaurants. My favorite thing there is the smokehouse bbq burger. Make sure to try the beans yum.. I also get takeout from there every few months or so. It can be a little busy sometimes though get there early.

To-die-for tri-tip! If you want to have a cheap date, and you both eat meat...order a full rack of the brontosaurus (beef) ribs, and have you a mean feast.
