Can't get enough of it!
Since I moved to LA in 2006, Lala's has always been my favorite restaurant to dine at. The food is great and they have this beautiful outdoor patio that is really nice and romantic. The service has always been good and the staff is always really friendly and attentive. I specially love their skirt steak and their crepes. Me and my friends simply love it and can't get enough of it!

A disappointment
It was a hot day outside, the arcaic A/C unit provided no relief inside the restaurant, the waitress was condescending, rude, and agressive, the bread was stale, the grilled vegetables ungrilled, it took a long time to get two glasses of cheap wine, the skirt steak was bathed in a mushroom sauce (specialty of the house). The chicken milanesa was decent and so were the french fries. The atmosphere no better than Denny's and the prices fair relative to the low quality of the food. Being from Argentina, it was a dissapointing and embarrasing experience.

love it
I go to LaLa's on Ventura Blvd. Parking sucks ($3 for valet), and there's never street parking. Besides that , the food is always excellent, hot, and fresh. The service is great, and I often see the manager greeting/helping guests. I recommend the Pollo a la Brasa with rice. Can't get enough of the bread and parsley/olive oil!

Favorite Restaurant in LA
Killer menu, nice prices, great atmosphere. The chicken dishes are top-shelf, the rice is a must, and the chorizo appetizer makes me want to write a friggin sonnet. The last time I "ate in" at Lala's I walked out with smiggidy on my face and a bun in the oven. If only for the parsley and peperoncino-infused olive oil, get thyself to Lala's BUT QUICK. Seriously though, the service at Lala's is great.

great flan, great patio
I love Hollywood Lala's. The outdoor patio is great for small dinner parties. The servers are fun. The mashed potatoes are great, and the flan is flabbergasting. It's more home cooking than "haute cuisine". I've always come away happy.

Great place to meet and have fun
I don't know what people are talking about. All last summer my friend and I met for lunch or drinks every week and the staff was great. They knew our names and what we liked. They were really funny and chatty. You can bring your dog onto the patio. The food is great- my faves are any of the chicken or salmon salads and for night time I crave the Chicken Provenzal (lots of garlic and flavor). They also have amazing garlic mashed potatoes. Everyone I have brought there really likes it (even my friend who never wants to go somewhere new). The patio at night is great because it's nicely lit and they have the hanging overhead heaters. I know I went on and on, but I was sort of surprised by the negative reviews (I think it must be one of their competitors) :)

Terrible Service, No Character.
Our first time going there, one of our guests was served the wrong dish; the water ordered arrived until we were having dessert; worst of all the waiter was shamelessly asking for a 20% tip!!!!! when a 15% tip was given (this with terrible service). This was unbelievably absurd !!!!! The skirt stake was great, but the chicken milanesa suprema was dry; the fries tasted like they were made with bad oil.
