La Scala Presto
Posted by Ryan on 10/24/2014
We've been La Scala loyalists for 35 years; not sure how BH location doing (we've just recently moved back) but Brentwood has serious issues. Manager to wait staff, really sad. Really difficult to get quality service and food has gone down hill; so many standing around and socializing instead of doing their job. Rudeness factor a solid 10. Don't waste your time, $$ here.

Took four ladies to lunch today. Three had varied versions of the chopped salad and also a shrimp salad. All excellent. The shrimp salad, which came with grilled vegetables was exceptional. The service was beyond reproach. Will definitely go there again soon.

I have been eating at La Scala for 22 years at the Brentwood location. The food has always been good. But the service now gets an "F" these days. You could be the only person in the Restaraunt and you still have to chase down a waiter for anything. Sides like Pepperchinnis and extra dressing or a couple olives used to be free. The only reason I still go the is for the chopped salad . Unfortunately they are living on yesterday's reputation.

There are so many Italian restaurants in Brentwood, but we thought we'd try something different. We arrived at La Scala and there was a 15 minute wait. The host offered the patio. A storm was approaching, but he assured us that it was waterproof. We got drenched, as did our food - with dirty water coming off the awning. My son ate 3 of the 6 overly-priced ravioli, and was unable to finish his meal. Because he ate half, they would not replace the others, or credit our bill. I ordered the chicken which came in a sauce which I could not identify. No one - including the server and the host - could tell me what was in the sauce. They truly didn't seem to care whether or not we were happy with our food, atmosphere, or service. I won't go back.

I USED to love this place, either ate in or take-out several times a week. I don't know if it has new owners or just what is going on, they are so stingy and poor customer service. I love the chopped salad, I don't eat meat so I order no salami, but when I added onions they charged me $3!! I asked what was going on they never used to charge me extra, they said rudely, no substitutions! Plus you can't (for some unknown reason) get the small chopped salad to go, only dine in. Never will I waste my valuable time or money!
