Sorry to report the decline of yet another long time operating food establishment in what has now become a fast developing epidemic. The review posted last month is correct about the downgrade change to the "free" meal on a person's birthday, it is only available for combo's 1-4, one item. For those who choose to keep going there, make sure the server CONFIRMS that it IS your birthday before ordering. I told him it was my birthday, and when the check was brought, the waiter looked at me with shock when I showed my ID and asked me 'what is this for?' The mgr then spoke with me and said he'd charge for the taco I had as an extra item. So I paid 3.77 for the taco, and contemplated not leaving a tip, but did. The beans also were basically tasteless (apart from the cheese and some added Tapatio sauce) Some years ago, I mentioned the downturn in their foods' flavor, and got a so what response, I guess because I'm only 1 customer. My parents went there for years every Sunday in the 80's thru 90's, but now I'm done with them. I realize what one person loves another one could hate, but when it comes to what looks like less than the best possible customer treatment, it's time to decide where to continue patronizing. I also understand it's becoming more and more difficult to survive, so it's time to pay attention to everything and ask questions if something doesn't add up right, or if unsure about any billing, sales promotion, or offer.

Good Food,Good value. We have enjoyed la Capilla Torrance for many Years. We go just to go and enjoy the Food and to Celebrate our Families Birthdays. They Cheapened out on the Birthday Menu Now you get a one Item Plate instead of two Items, How much does the Restaurant in that second Item. Come on Cheapos.

Our family has been savoring the delicious food at La Capilla for years. Consistently tasty with generous portions and daily specials. Very good value. The carnitas dishes have lean roasted pork. Burritos are stuffed to the max with a surprising amount of meat. Sauces are flavorful and not over-spiced in the kitchen. If you want spicy, you can doctor it yourself. We like that policy -- some family members prefer hot and others like bland. No problem. When they are extra busy at the height of lunch hour or dinner, you may have to wait a little for a coffee or water refill, but the wait staff rushes around trying to provide prompt service with smiles and courtesy. Parking is limited in front, but about 1/2 block away is a big underground parking garage (free). No matter how hungry we are, we usually end up with several styro containers of leftovers to heat and serve another day. Compared to other Mexican restaurants, their prices are surprisingly low for the quality and quantity. Bar drinks seem to be a bit expensive, but food prices are very fair. Decor is festive and reminds us of family restaurants in Guadalajara. Five stars across the board for La Capilla!
