Our second visit ...
,,, confirms our first impression. Kincaid's is a big, upscale though noisy restaurant with a beautiful location on the Redondo Beach pier. This is the pivotal fact one needs to know about this place. If you don't mind spending too much money for so-so food, take your date there. You can be sure your conversation will not be disturbed by anybody, because service is virtually non-existent. Once we were served nobody bothered to inquire whether we were pleased, or whether there was anything else we needed. After waiting for about fifteen minutes with empty glasses, we had to grab a passing employee to ask for more water. On our first visit we tried the steaks they were good but undistinguished. On our second we tasted the seafood. There was a sense of "mock high cuisine" about our choices: the presentation on the plate was attractive, but the fish was overwhelmed by the spices added to it to the point that it felt like eating a pesto with some meat underneath it. The scallop dish (4 scallops for $24.00) was good. Only the setting sun was memorable.

this food is really devine
when i got there it was about six and we got seated and all that bread was delicious not heavily buttered and the service was great so my mom ordered the salmon which was oh so decadent it melted in your mouth nice and crisp on the outside but so tender on the inside. i order a chicken pasta dish which was loaded with something really spicy a green herb i am not sure what it was. so the pasta was delicious not as good as the salmon but close enough and we order dessert because it was my moms "birthday" it was a cream brule oh my godness it was so good i could not believe how wonderful it was although they did charge us for it. it was well worth it though and we also got soup crab

Avoid this restaurant
Just had lunch at this restaurant. It was open at 11:30 but the staff was not ready. We waited in the entry along with many others for over 20 minutes. When we were finally seated we had a lovely window table in a beautiful restaurant. My husband ordered the fish and chips which was nearly all breading and salt and asked for malt vinegar which arrived 20 minutes later after he had nearly finished eating. The bread basket came after our meal was nearly over and the bread was heavily buttered. Our iced tea was refilled after we had finished our meal. My soup was filled with wood-like bits and the bacon in the sandich was under cooked.
