Best high end Italian food in L.A.
In the pantheon of the best Italian food in Los Angeles Valentino, Osteria Angelini, La Terza, and Il Grano. But prices at Il Grano are a bit lower than the others. Chef-owner of Il Grano, Salvatore Marino, specializes in sushi-grade fish and home grown vegetables. The restaurant is stylish and quiet enough for conversation. Sal happily will split appetizers and mains into two plates that each look like maybe slightly smaller versions of the originals. Fine wine list, plus wines sold by the glass and the half-glass (the latter for exactly 1/2 the price of the full glass). Easy parking in city lot behind the restaurant. Great for lunch and dinner.
