miss you gjelina!
one of the best things about my time in LA. love the space, staff, ambiance and most of all, the food!! buratta, pork belly and truffle oil w/ mushroom pizza... and oh! the sunchokes, and of course, the caramel budino. got v. crowded ~12/09 and noise levels can bug, but that's the small price for everything else!

Excellent food, excellent time.
Everything that came out of that kitchen was wonderful, and the service was just fine. We ate at one of the "communal" tables (because we went without a rez), which was fun because we got to acquaint ourselves with the other folks there. Amazing pizzas, excellent veg., fantastic steak -- and the desserts? My my my. Gotta try it at least once; but make reservations!

Annoying
It's the kind of beautifully designed place (which is undeniable) which thinks that it knows food because they do a cheese board...then charges you something outrageous for four of the most tiny portions of cheese you could imagine, yet served with not enough crackers or bread. It thinks it's oh-so-hip, but it's really just annoying, overpriced and- up its own fundament Oh heavens is it self-assured, and for bo good reason. One last thing-it has the worst acoustics in LA, you can't hear a thing in there with the way the sound bounces around.
