gaby's
gaby's is a really good place and the food is outstanding but the people who work there aren't the best.

Great food, bad service...
Gaby's food is delicious! We live in the neighborhood and go there at least three times a month. The Lemon Chicken or Salmon and the Lamb Kebab plate are fantastic. The down side in the service by far. Ask the bus boys for what you need because the waitresses are inattentive and a bit spacey. We have waited for forty-five minutes for the bill before and have considered walking out. When the owner is in, the service is usually a bit better but if you don't mind dining at home, we recommend calling and ordering for pick up and make sure to order extra garlic sauce. Try the Kibbeh too.

love it love it love it!
We are totally addicted to Gaby's and crave it often! The baklava is absolutely perfection. Their hummus rocks! The chicken shwarma plate is the best- we always get the same thing and never regret it! Our suggestion is to order take out ahead of time, pick it up and take it home and enjoy it in your pj's! Service isn't that great, but sometimes eating outside totally balances out everything. I think it is a good place to take visitors. Order the hummus appetizer- once you start eating you forget the so-so service. I'd order extra pita up front instead of waiting for them to bring you more- it might not ever happen! But guaranteed you will want to lick the plate once you are done! Try "Judy's salad"- its a local favorite!

The worst service ever
The first time I went to Gaby's I had a delicious and inexpensive shwarma and some falafel. I wanted to take go there on my graduation dinner. My father never got his order, we never got a refill on our drinks, and half of the orders were screwed up. We asked to see the manager and she came out and mumbled a few apologies and walked away without offering us anything!! I will never go back to that place again.

Late night outdoor shawarma paradise
Gaby's is one of the few establishments in LA who resist the temptation to close up shop early in the evening. The outdoor tent-like dining is quaint and relaxed. The menu is diverse, with wide selection of vegetarian dishes. Their shawarma is excellent and the hummus sublime.
