More like Falafel Apprentice
Cheap, yes. Middle-Eastern? Not so much. The shawarma was seasoned like the mixtas you get at Puerto Rican restaurants, but unlike a mixta, it was very dry and chewy. The falafel was seasoned right but shaped like little hamburgers - i.e smaller than normal falafel. They were a little dry too. The tahini did not have the normal taste or 'sauce' consistency - more like hummus pureed w/ water in a blender. The salad came with pickles and pickled beets on top... I wasn't aware these were a middle eastern staple, unless we're counting kosher delis in that category. Plus, we're pretty sure all the guys in there were speaking Portuguese - nothing wrong with that, but last time I checked, Brazil wasn't located on the Persian Gulf. It's a good value in that you get a lot of food - it's just not very good food. We've had better Middle Eastern/Persian cuisine in Westwood already and we've only lived here a week.

yum
I don't know why no one has reviewed this place. It's been in westwood for a really long time. it's cheap, greasy flavorful goodness! There are very few places where you can get food this good for so little money! There is almost NO atmosphere and the service is inconsistant but the food is always satifying. It's a great place for lunch! and don't balk at the gresey chips! they're fantastic!
