Have been to the regular El Torito in the past, but never the grill which I didn't even know excisted. Went based on a picture in the Tolucan Times magazine with the mesquite grilled sea bass and the cucumber cilantro martini. The sea bass was a little pricey for the amount but was a delicious as that of a fine steak and the martini was great right down to the chewing of the jalapeno in it. The staff was very friendly and when mentioning the going to the movies showed us a list of movies and times playing at the Arclight theatre right there in the Sherman Oaks Galleria. The whole thing made for a great night.

This food probably shouldn't be called mexican food, as it is quite different that typical Mexican restaurant fare. There is no denying the southwestern heritage of the decor of the food, and both are delicious. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant except to say that I wish the prices were more modest, so I could go more often. It is a nice place to take someone special.

I have been consistently pleased with both the service and food at this restaurant. The portions are quite generous and tastefully arranged on large plates. Signature items include an excellent guacamole prepared from scratch at your table. A simple two item combination is around $10 and it will easily fill you up - specials are more pricey and are available on a separate page. Quality is high - you will not need to ask them to use white meat in the chicken enchiladas because that is what you will get. The overall restaurant is very elegant but casual and flexible.
