    Love This Place!!!

This place has been a staple of ELA for as long as I can remember. It has thee best and definately the most filling Mexican food in LA thats for sure. Lines may get long but it is definately worth the wait. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get, you will always have left overs. Not the best looking neighborhoo but safe. I highly recommend Manuels to anyone who wants to try great Mexican food.

    Mmmmmm, bomb sour cream

As soon as we walked in the door, Manny greeted us with 2 shots of man juice as always. His man juice tastes incredible as well as his amazing 12" burrito that is so delicious I wanna wrap my mouth all the way around it. His sour cream reduction was decadent, his carne asada was juicy, meaty, flavorful and so memorable- it reminded me of being in our home town of Tia Juana that suculant down home taste that leaves your tastes buds wanting and needing more. Maria& Lucy, flashed their pescado menu, and we have been hooked ever since. We are so overwhelmed with their ability to exceed and go beyond our expectations and knowing our needs everytime we cum in ....we love you Manny, thank you for your man juice and 12".

    Home Away from Home

Manuels!! I can never say enough. My family has been going there since it opened. Manuel is like my uncle. I am his consentida. When we enter the place we are greeted with a warm hug and a shot of tequila or presidente!! The food is AMAZING!! The spices, and flavors, the REAL Guacamole!! and just like home, served more than you can ever handle!! I can never wear tight clothes knowing I am going to Manuels. When my children were born, they too instantly became part of the "family". Calling Manny out of his home if he wasn't working and he would come with icecream, goodies and always a great story of his youth!! This place is legendary, and so is its founder. Manny gives much more to the community than he ever received. But back to the food....Steak picado, have you ever had their only recently added to the menu Chilaquiles (it used to be "underground" only for those who were privileged), they are too die for...enchiladas rancheras!!HmMM I am getting hungry again...and then I couldn't wait for it to be LENT!! Those Papa Tacos!! The best in the world along with the Shrimp platters, they are allllllll goood.....I recently saw the cafe on Man vs. Food, and let me tell you, they didn't even brush the surface!! I was very happy to see Manny, being himself on television for the world to see!!! If you have not been to El Tepeyac (Manuel's to the locals), you are missing out. There are very few places in the world that still exist as Manuel's.

    You are Missing Out!

Waste of time: It is not like home cooking and your comments are overrated I bet you think your better then the rest and you should learn to love people more. Anyway I too have eaten at many Mexican restaurants and this place always pleases the palette. You can make a meal just from the sauce order it separate it is awesome. Yes it is known for the Manuel specials but I always get the Hollenbeck. The area is fine it is just different. Yeah OC is overrated and I bet most people there are not happy unless it has a keyboard or joy stick and Mexican food to them is Tack-o-Bell or Pinto Beans in a can.

Top shelf Mexican food! No excuses!

My old man was going to "Manual's" since I was a little kid... maybe 6 or 8 years old. I am now 53 and hope that Manual's never closes down. I have met people from all over the world there and the food is just the best! All other hole in the wall mexican cafe' strive to be as good. Be patient and wait in line... it will be wrapped around into the parking lot at dinner time!

    Born In E.L.A.

Hi Manuel Sr... Well People I love love the Food . I drive from the IE where i now live mistake lol .. I visit my Mother who still lives In E.L.A. and everytime we go To Manuels we get the Manuels Burrito it is yummy and worth the Wait which is not long if you order at the outside window.. If i am going to eat there i use to eat @ Tepeyac in Monterey Park . I was so Sad when i went one day and it no longer was there anymore.. So there we go to the Evergreen Location. My whole Family eats there and so did My Grandma and she would never eat other Peoples food.I have family going back to 35 years that loved that Mexican Food . I am not scared to Go to the Evergreen Location I always will remember where i came from . A city where people work hard and Cook with lots of Love If you are Blessed enough to Visit El Tepeyac go for it and don't be scared because the People don't look like you ..Hey if you are scared of the Location go to the Church across the Street Go with God ...
