The Service is always good, the minute you sit down chips and salsa are at the table. The food is always very taste especially the Chili Relleno. I have been coming weekly for the last two years and have never been disappointed, of course there are times when the wait for a table takes a long time. I think you will find the wait worth your while.

It took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust to the dark interior. It was worth the wait. Little by little the tiles, shingles and bouquets of flowers started to dazzle the eyes. My friend and I could spoke to all of the staff in Spanish and the red leather booths with long table cloths were great for concealing any under-the-table activity. Chips and spicy salsa made their way to our table instantly. Drinks: Margaritas - these were by far the best margaritas we had had in some time. Hands-down. I had El Padrino and my friend had the Carnitas. We shared and found that the guacamole, rice and cheese was all perfect - not too dry, not too wet. My friend said the green salad that came with the Carnitas had great quality lettuce. The meat was all perfectly braised. We loved our time at El Compadre!! Definitely a great place for a date.

El Compadre is a vintage style mexican restuarnt with great atmosphere, kitchy decor, attentive waiters and lots of energy. The drinks are strong, the prices cheap and overall a fun place to eat mexican food. It's one of my favs!
