Food Quality And Service The Best
Posted by Andzia on 12/10/2012
I've been going to this restaurant since 1968. The food is absolutely delicious. This is a family owned establishment that takes pride in what they provide. The wines are also good. The bistec empanizado and Flan are the best. Buen provecho!

I have been going to El Colmao since before I could eat. MY Cuban grandparents would always bring me here. This is as close to Cuban home cooking as your gonna get without stepping in to a Cuban kitchen. The food is incredible my personal favorite is the Bestec Empanizado which dosent seem to be on the online menue. But I have never had anything bad from here. The atmosphere is kind of like a diner setting and a bit outdated but don’t let that fool you the food is 5 star. Service has always been great prompt and with a smile. The only downside is the neighborhood however there is an on patrol security guard at all times and I have been going here for 22 years and have never had an issue. I highly recommend this to any one if you’re in the area or looking for the best Cuban food in L.A. Enjoy!! There aren’t too many places like this left in L.A. Tell your friends and keep this place running.

This place loves what they do. It is difficult to find a restaurant that take pride in there cooking. And they do it with a smile. I am in my mid forties and I have been coming to this place since I was 13 years old. I love it!! I highly recommend my favorite and that is the Pollo al jerez oh my, it is truly the best. I hope you can get out to L.A and enjoy this place as much as I do. Best of taste to ya....

I went with a co-worker who has been raving about this place for years. It is by far the best Cuban food in L.A. The food is closest to homemade as you can get. The stews and neats are all slow cooked and served with pride. I had the Pollo al Jerez. It was flavorful with a slightly citrus accent. The ox tail stew was also delicious. Black beans and rice comes wtith all dishes and are done right. Genuine Cuban coffee and cola are avilable too. Go during the day since I don't think you want to be in that neighborhood after dark.

This is by far the best/most genuine cuban food in LA, and of course Orange County. We've been going there for over 30 years, and although the neighborhood has really deteriorated, the restaurant is still the same. Even the same waiters/waitresses are still there. Definitely worth venturing to that neck of the woods.
