I work nights, so I am always on the lookout for good 24/7 restaurants. I go to Canter's a lot (which is o.k., nothing compared to Brent's Deli in the Valley--wish Brent's were open 24 hours). Du-Par's is just a block down from Canter's so I thought I'd give it a try. I had the Chicken Pot Pie once and I really liked it. But each time I went there since they didn't have the chicken pot pie. So I had something else, just breakfast, which was not better than Denny's and almost twice the price. I finally decided to try going on one of my days off around 8 or 9 am, and once again, the Chicken pot pie was not available. I was furious, I traveled all the way over there just for that. The next time I went there I thought I'd save myself time by just asking if they had the Chicken Pot Pie available before I even sat down. They said no. That was it, I never went back, and won't ever again. I'm amazed at how much people are willing to spend there. The few menu items I tried there were completely mediocre, and like I said, you could get at another restaurant for about half the price. I think their being located in the original Farmers Market has helped them stay in business, otherwise I don't see why anyone would ever want to eat there.
