You Can't Find a Better Value in LA! Delicious!
This is my go-to restaurant. It is the new and improved Doughboys, with the same amazing recipes, under new management. The food is absolutely delicious, and you can't get better value! My favorites: Southern Corn Pudding Special -- half potatoes, pork, onions and half cheesy corn goodness, served with eggs on top. Heaven. After School Special -- the most delicious creamy tomato soup I've ever had with grilled cheese. Italian Scramble: eggs, pasta, sausage, basil, mozzarella, etc. It is a combination you would never expect to be so delicious. Save room for dessert -- which they are famous for! My favorite is the Hummingbird cake, with bananas, pineapple, walnut. OMG! The servers are so wonderful. Attentive, friendly. Good people.

meh city
I've given this place a chance multiple times and I've never felt it was never worth the wait or crowd it seems to draw. I have had horrible service and decent service every time, a tactic of theirs seems to be to completely ignore you once seated. Food is mediocre at best and the wait is typically a nightmare. I would avoid it.

Falls Short on Many Levels
We came here on a recommendation of another friend. While the hostess said it would be a 20 minute wait, we ended up waiting for a little over an hour! The french onion soup is far too salty it should have been called a sodium bath. My omelette was really sweet and tasted like candy - gross. My friend's salads were underdressed or maybe the sodium bath just warped my tastebuds. The red velvet cake - so-so. Suffice it to say not coming back here. Go across the street to Toast - they looked busy.

best french onion soup EVER!
I live in NY now and dream about going to doughboys and having there french onion soup. It is so cheesy and delicious and probably one of the unhealthiest things you cant eat but every once in awhile its delish!

GREAT FOOD!
Dumbest wait staff in the long history of flaky Hollywood waiters. But seriously, if you can ignore that fact, the food is to DIE for. The after school special with creamy tomato soup is the obvious choice to recommend, but there are countless gooey delicious sandwiches to sample. Great for people watching as well.

Great Food, Poor Service
The food at Doughboys is to die for. Their soups and sandwiches are FABULOUS. However, they take a LONG time to bring your food, and their wait staff always seem to be painfully incompetent and curt with patrons.

Can't rave enough about it
I am forever grateful to my friend who introduced me to this place. Since then, I've gotten others hooked. They offer huge, delicious bowls of homemade soup. Though I haven't yet tried their sandwiches, it's because I am hooked on their breakfasts. Everything is so good and in decent portions. The only drawback is that the place is small so there is usually a long wait on the weekends (up to 30+ min) and finding street parking can also be a pain, although there is sometimes valet service available. But it's all definately worth it!
