    No Smoking Please!

Went there on Sun night as a recommendation from my hotel. BEWARE of the Smoking! They allow smoking in their "outdoor" area which consists of make shift roof. There is no where for the smoke to go. Just as my entree was being served, the table next to me and behind me decided to light up. My delicious pasta had the taste of smoke and tobacco. Service was also poor. We weren't even offered coffee. Would NOT go back!

    Sunday Night at Dominick's

Invited to celebrate the day after Valentine's with two friends tonight (Sunday). One friend raved of Dominick's and we were her guests. It was popular with the Rat Pack a century before the Brat Pack was born. A wise 7pm reservation had us seated immediately in the lovely patio. The hostess initially took us to a table in the back, but when I objected to facing the wall I asked if we could have the empty table by the fireplace. She gladly obliged. Service was prompt and professional The table by the fireplace was lovely although as the restaurant filled up the noise level was thunderous. I had to shout to be heard across our table. The food was wonderful. Delicious warm bread served in a paper bag you passed around and tore pieces from. Appetizers of fried calamari and rice balls stuffed with mozzarella were outstanding. My friend was disappointed they were out of stuffed squash blossoms. Oh well. Life is hard sometimes. I got over it and hoped she did, too. The prix fixe dinner ($15) of minestrone, gnocchi and cheesecake was sublime. Quality in human-sized portions. What to do with leftovers wasn't an issue. Doubt there would be any. An outstanding bottle of Dominick's Red Table Wine at $10 was a bargain. Called "Red Dago," I kid you not. One MINOR quibble. The good service comes with somewhat aggressive wait staff only (too) eager to remove your plate. Twice I had to tell the busboy I wasn't done with my soup. It's more likely because at 9pm this Sunday night, Dominick's was packed than "rude" service. The place attracts an attractive young clientele, each one a star is his own mind. Not that there's any thing wrong with being either young or sttractive. After all, it's Dominick's!

nice ambiance, decent food, rude host

They made us wait for 45 minutes in the rain despite having a reservation. While making the reservation, our party of 12 was mislead by the host that the fixed price menu ranges between $32-39 per person depending on what we ordered. It actually came to $45 each before drinks, tax and tip. While we were trying to point this out to the host, he raised his voice at us and pretty much said that we were lying! The food was decent, the rest of the service was fine, the ambiance was nice, but the host's behaviour ruined the experience for us.

    Old Scool Italian done right!

Delicious food, amazing ambiance, and we had great service! I love coming here, especially on Tuesdays when they have their wine flight.

No better place to go for a first date..

Just to keep it short and sweet the place is awesome. When you first walk in Dominick's makes you feel like your at home. The main room when you walk in is very romantically lite as so is the rest of the restaurant. Everything looks or is very vintage. There is no bad table in the place. The majority of their seating is outside patio, but it is well covered/shaded so your not going to get rained on. If you can get the table in front of the fire place. It is very worth it. The food is good. Not to much and not to little. Just enough so you don't look like your at a buffet. Try the deserts. I had the vanilla espresso sorbet. Amazing!! But i please easy... The staff is very accommodating and polite. They gave my date directions twice because we've never been or know the area. And they didn't mind that we did exactly make our 8pm reservation. Yet still kept our table open in front of the fire place till we arrived. My only quorum with Dominick's is that there music was a little on the high side. I found myself repeating some of my conversation with my date. Kind of annoying. If your looking for an Italian restaurant thats romantic and well priced. This is the place to visit. I will for sure come back....
