I really love this place either for a decent meal or a drink at the bar. I'm almost afraid to leave a review, because I don't want this place to get too crowded or trendy. It's a locals' hangout the floors are uneven and they probably haven't attempted to dust in years. The food is typical American cuisine, specializing in steak. If you love a taste of Americana in LA, go here.

This was a total dissappointment. First, the restaurant looks very dumpy and rundown. It was dimly lit, messy, and peanut shells on the floor, but that honestly didn't bother me that much. I've found that reasonably expensive places that look like dumps often have GREAT food, cause why else would people go? I usually love the rustic hole in the wall places. The atmosphere and recomendation made me that much more confident the would be good. I'm not kidding when I say that they literally have a couple of tables that have dividers between them on the table, to essentially seat 2 different parties at the same table. We were seated at one of these awkward tables. I asked to be moved and was. Next, the service was very poor. I saw them bring a lady a completely wrong entre, we waited a while for our waiter, our check, etc. I was even brought a mysterious 7-up that I didn't order for no apparent reason. The waitstaff looked like they were running around generally confused. Now on to the most important part, the food! I had a New York Strip Steak, it was $23 and totally not worth it. that's not Ruth Chris prices but not Denny's either. The meat seemed like a decent cut, but there was no seasoning or flavoring at all. I understand that's a certain style, but it was also a little too charred on the outside(although it was medium like I ordererd it), leaving that familiar unpleasant burned flavor in my mouth.
