    Charming & Delicious!

A wonderful after-theatre experience! (10% off with Theatre West program.) Good wine list at reasonable prices. The Risotto St. Tropez was fantastic!! I'll be back!

    Relaxing and enjoyable

We have been going here for several years now for Sunday breakfasts (open at 10 a.m.), love the breakfast choices. Dinners are excellent, the place is casual and friendly. My wife says the morning coffee is the best in L.A. We feel we are on one of our European trips when we go there. Recommend to all.

    Love this Intimate place

This is a great place for a romantic evening. We just love this place. I asked her to marry me here - she said YES! You'll love it.

A Little Bit of Paris in the Pass

When you walk through the front door, suddenly you are in a relaxing casual Parisian bistro. If you've spent any time in France, you'll know this type of eatery where you get anything from yummy soups and salads to sophisticatedly saucey entrees, but where families are welcome too. There are some wonderful French people there to serve you real French food. The California Canteen is our neighborhood haunt. My wife loves French wine (which they have plenty of at very reasonable prices) and being a beer snob, they have plenty to satisfy me (including big bottles of yummy Fischer Amber). They have monthly specials, daily specials and a nice (and reasonable) weekend brunch menu. One of my favorite dishes anywhere is their chopped steak, served with green peppercorn sauce (although they alternate between sauces on the special menu). Absolutely delicious. There is no problem substituting their perfectly cooked veggies on dishes normally served with starches. If you want something not on the menu, just ask and they can probably make it. They make all of their own desserts and they are authentically French delicious, especially the tarte tatin. I could go on and on, but I'm getting hungry. Their seafood dishes are terrific (steamy mussels wow) too. Know that they serve beer and wine only and that they have their own valet for a reasonable charge. It attracts a fairly eclectic crowd, many from the entertainment industry.
