A family friendly place to visit.

In my 17 years in America and living in 5 states, I can tell this one is the best middle eastern place to go to where you get very friendly servicend home made food as well. Do not let some bad reviews for some personal reasons stop you from trying the place. Their staff is very friendly to the T. You got to try their kabobs, appetizers, special Egyptian items such as Egyptian Lazania ( Macarona), Mulukhia, Bamia, Hawawshi and more. Their desert menue is out of this world., try their Eish Elsaraya.

    bleh

The food needs some work. The salads are never very fresh. I always call in the order so never really deal with the staff.

Good place to chill, horrific service

Dahab's is a decent hookah bar, a good place to relax with friends and smoke some hookah. There humus is good, but I wouldn't recommend anything else (maybe a kabob sandwich). But be prepared for the worst service ever. Even if the place isn't busy, you will get no service. If you are looking for a full-service restaurant, this is not the place. But if you want a place to chill, relax, smoke some hookah, and not be bothered by the wait staff (they won't come anyway), then Dahab's is the place.

    Worst Hookah Ever

This place doesn't even deserve the one star I gave it in this review. This is the worst hookah bar I have ever been to, and I have been to many, in all different cities, states and countries. The four of us arrived after dinner on a slow monday night, meaning we were not a burden to them. Long story short, for four people to have one plain hookah and four teas was $59 dollars. It was an $18 hookah that was listed on the menu as $13, a $7 charge for each of us in addition to the hookah and tea, $4 teas, and a $10 GRATUITY FEE for the minimal service we had required. Finding these costs appalling, we naturally put up a fight, and they, rather than trying to reason with us, fought back with us! Seriously rude people. After much deliberation, they finally removed the preposterous gratuity fee, and we left, vowing to never return. On a side note, they had a television blaring on the wall, and being that we were the only customers, we asked them if it would be possible to turn the tv off or down, and they denied us rudely, saying it was not possible. Do yourself a favor and go any extra distance to any other hookah bar in la, it will be worth the gas money.
