My father was amused. He recognized something familiar. For whatever reason the people I know over 50 are enamored by theme restaurants. Thus, we ended up in this place. Yippee. Lots of Forrest Gump references. Big deal. The food was not good. When my entree arrived I had to ask if they deliberately served their shrimp tacos cold. Who knows? It's a restaurant modeled after an idiot after all. Anyway, the answer was no, it should be "warm." So, after a 30 minute wait for a new entree, the replacement shrimp tacos make their appearance: Colder than the first tray. Real cold. Is it really that difficult to heat stuff? Quite simply this place is nothing more than a place for tourists. They obviously know it and just don't care. Certainly didn't seem to generate any concern when we refused to pay for the shrimp taco; complete indifference. Took it off the bill, smiled, and waved us on our way. Of course, my dad loved it. But he could eat garbage as long as there's a license plate stuck to the wall of his booth.

Good Atmosphere. The food was really tasty! Fairly good service too!! My wife and I got a real big kick out of the Forrest Gump Collectables! As far as the clean atmosphere, it could have used a few minor details just to freshen it up a bit. But then again, we are talking about Santa Monica Pier, aren't we? Ciao, over and out maty!!

Looking for great shrimp? This sounds like it would have something tasty along those lines......STAY AWAY! Bubba Gump Shrimp will have you waiting in line just to eat the same shrimp they're serving up at Popeye's, just not as flavorful as Popeye's. This is one of the best piers in Southern California and you're going to put this at the base of it?
