I have been there less than 10 times (not really know why?!) The scene: No Cover, Karaoke night daily, gets crowded often, even on weekdays. Really crowded on weekends. Good luck if you want to sing more than once or even once!! Rotation is not good! But if you really wanna sing, just hand the DJ a twenty dollar bill and voila... you're next! Good luck too on getting a drink from the unfriendly waitresses and bartenders who think that they are hot (no way!- they have been gaining pounds actually...), be ready to hear that there is a two drink minimum crap (did I mention that they sell 5-dollar sodas??)... Regulars even get poorly treated. Pros: From time to time staff changes and they are more friendly. The security guy is consistently friendly. No cover. When it doesn't get crowded you can sing and party... and then everybody becomes surprisingly friendly. When Mike is a good mood he's really cool. Since there is no cover charge and have a wide collection of karaoke songs the place gets crowded. Parking is free if you leave after 11p. Diversity is welcome here. Tips: Arrive early (before 9:30p on weekends) if you wanna sing and get a nice seat, be sure to get listed as soon as you come in. Tip well and be nice to the Dj if you wanna sing. As a karaoke lover and downtown LA resident, I would recommend other places to go for a fun karaoke night.
