Lower your expectations
The reviewer who recommends Bossa Nova as a great date spot must be poor in either judgment or finances. Sure, it's a fine place to go if you're hungry, but it's certainly not anything to rave about. It's also one of the least comfortable places I can imagine for a date. No privacy, uncomfortable, metal chairs, bad lighting, cramped spaces indoors... It's barely better than Koo Koo Roo.

the first reviewer doesn't know...
bossa nova is easily one of the best places to eat in this town. The food is incredible and has a unique california twist to the savory brazilian cuisine. It really has everything for the broad spectrum of diners that make up this town. The prices and ambience are a little lower than fine dining, which makes it a top quality establishment to take a date. Not to mention the fact that they are open until 3 a.m. I have never had or seen the behavior represented by any employee, and contrarily have actually seen specific instances where the staff performed above and beyond the call of duty. This has definetely played a part in my decision to be a return patron.

Good food. Poor service
I like the food. Very rich, although I did throw up my first time going there. The second time I went there it was pretty good. You have to wave down the waiter to get a refill and he will probably have an attitude about it.
