Below Expectations....
Since there seems to be a shortage of quality Viet. restaurants in L.A., I was excited to go to this restaurant and see what they had to offer. Not only did they forget to include the Viet. Sandiwch, which I'd ordered (only to discover this after I got home) - their prices were far above their value. Definitely not a place I'd go to again - the search continues.

Very Tasty!
I've enjoyed the fabulous food at Blue Hen on over 10 occasions, all but 3 of them take out. The Pho is the best I've eaten in Southern CA - yes, better than Long Beach and Orange County - and the place has a nice feel as long as you aren't a big group (say, 3 or more). For groups I suggest phoning ahead and ordering take-out, (beware there's limited space in the restaurant to wait for a table or food to go). If you are eating there - the turmeric fries are a must, but I don't know how well they travel. The summer rolls are great, the salad is wonderful, and the chicken pho is, of course, the reason to go. We have a vegetarian in the family - so I've tried all the tofu dishes as well - and they are quite well done and very tasty. I recommend the place highly - if I didn't live 68 miles away I'd be eating there every week.

Blue Hen Sandwich
Their Blue Hen sandwich was flavorful, with a good cilantro kick, but the accompanying salad was as flavorful as a mop. We wish we had ordered the tumeric fries, which people at the next tables seemed to be enjoying. The atmosphere is arty, but it was packed when we went and the service was extremely slow.
