I have eaten at Baran many times and was happy to see it was under new management until today, My experience was very poor (AND NOT THE FIRST TIME). I was taking my mother out for a nice quiet brunch. When we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant, we chose a seat by the window. It took several minutes before a server offered us a drink. In the meantime a man came in by himself and sat two tables away from us. He proceeded to talk on his cell phone like he was the only person on earth. My mother commented that she could not hear me over the man talking and the blaring sound system. When I mentioned this to the owner that the man was ruining our time he said he was sorry the man was on a call to England (like we should not mind). When we orders our drinks, my mother ordering coffee it took 30 minutes for it to arrive and she no longer wanted it. again they apologized saying they just made it. Again no help. I ordered Tah-dig and was told they did not have it, which was ok but 10 minutes later they came and said they could have it and asked which stew we would like and I asked for Gheymeh. This dish (according to the menu has Veal in it) the last time I was at the restaurant it did not have any meat so I asked for it to have the meat in it, When it came, no meat. when I commented they brought me some meat that was not good at all. It turns out that the man on the phone was either a friend or partner of the owner in the restaurant and I finaly went to his table and said excuse me but you are ruining my meal. the man looked at me with surprise and said you are kidding. I like the owner but he has lost a customer.

Very first time I tried this restauran it was 6:50 in the evening. I ordered food to go. Food was very good. After that I went back few times. Still the food is good, but looks like their kabas are getting smaller or maybe thiner. Overall, I like thier food and I think you should try it : )

I went with a buddy of mine. The seating arrangement was horrible. The waiters didn't even have good access to our table and nor did they come by except one time. The boneless chicken I ordered had a toilet water flavor. My buddy's barg was good according to him. The prices weren't bad, probably similar to other restaurants. There were huge and very out of place flat screens with a music video playing and playing way too loud and occasionally cutting in and out. Overall I would never go back.
