what a disappointment!
With a name like Ambala Dhaba (rather than, say, Palace of India), this place seemed very promising. The menu looked authentically Punjabi, with dishes you'd find in an actual dhaba. I could hardly contain my excited anticipation, even if the lousy pickles on the table made the wrong first impression. Then came the first item we ordered (we're both Punjabi): keema samosa, drenched in a bizarre butter chicken sauce, and containing a dry mince of *chicken*. It might even have been turkey. I need say no more. We got up and left. I still can't reconcile the menu with the food served. They bear no relation to each other.

A great Dhaba
This one is the best. I find myself going back again and again for the "Ambala Vegetables." It also has the wonderful cheese. They also so have the "Almond shake" that tastes just like what you would have in India.

Not your average Indian food
Much of their menu won't sound familiar but give it a try. Particularly good are the Ludhiana Chicken and their goat (give it a try). Ice cream is great too. The owner & staff are very friendly.
